DVUSD – Deer Valley Unified School District is offering a driver education program beginning Sept. 10.

The program features 30 hours of classroom instruction and four hours of behind‑the‑wheel instruction. The class is Arizona Department of Transportation‑approved.

Students who complete the program successfully receive a certification fulfilling the state requirement for the Graduated License.

Two weekday sessions will be offered on Monday and Tuesday on the Desert Winds Elementary campus at 19825 N. 15th Ave. The first session runs on Mondays from Sept. 10 through Dec. 3. The second session will be held on consecutive Tuesdays from Sept. 11 through Nov. 27.

Both sessions run from 6‑9 p.m. and cost $275. Students must be at least 15 years, seven months of age by the first class and have a valid driving permit in order to receive behind‑the‑wheel training. To receive the certificate, 100 percent attendance is required.
